Located in Miaoli City’s administrative hub near the county council and tourist service center, the project integrates the surrounding environment while incorporating elements of local everyday life.
The building is set back in alignment with adjacent structures to create a front courtyard. Deciduous trees are planted on the northeast side to buffer seasonal winds. The east façade opens to panoramic riverside views, while the west side includes an open pedestrian passage. Each standard floor is divided into two wings, joined by a central double-height atrium that brings in natural light and ventilation. The northern side houses office areas, the southern side is for archive storage, and the central zone serves the public. A large conference room sits on the top floor, offering views of the Houlong River valley. The ground floor features an exhibition space and dual-service counters—including a convenient drive-through option.
The landscape design emphasizes ecological sustainability, with rainwater retention basins and multi-layered plantings enhancing drainage and greenery. The building has received a Diamond-grade Green Building Certification, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship.
