The project site is located on Xinfu Road, Xinshan Village, Wulai District, New Taipei City. The site is rectangular in shape. To maximize the mountain view, the traditional double-return staircase layout commonly found in apartment buildings was not adopted. Instead, horizontal through-floor staircases were positioned at the rear side of the residential units. Two sets of staircases were stacked and placed on either side of the building, while a transparent elevator was installed in the center of the rear, allowing residents to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery as they travel between floors.

Since each unit includes a balcony, to avoid a monotonous front façade design, some balconies were deepened and projected outward. These are paired with adjustable wood-textured louvers that provide both privacy and a rhythmic architectural language to the building’s frontage. Additionally, the two units on the uppermost floor at either end were combined and partially recessed to create large terrace homes, each equipped with an outdoor hot spring tub—offering the best panoramic views while also adding variation to the façade composition. On the rear side, the horizontally aligned staircases are partially stacked, and the barrier-free stairwell is enclosed with a glass curtain wall, creating a visually dynamic and nature-interactive experience at the back of the building.
